Houston Twestival - Wrap Up

Love getting on my bike and riding. Most of the time it’s just me with other riders, just cruisin or doing tricks in a parking lot. Other times, it’s me and the wife, chillin through town. Last night though, I actually had somewhere to ride to. It was the Houston Twestival, which was a world wide fundraising effort for Charity: Water. Not sure what the final results are for all worldwide events, but if the Houston event was any indication, I’m sure Charity:Water is going to receive a butt load of donations from these events.

The Houston event took place at Caroline Collective, which is located between Downtown and the Medical Center. The event drew a wide variety of Twitter friendly people, but I was dissappointed not to see more young people. Seemed to be more of a 30+ & over crowd, but it was all good. Oh wait, I’m over 30. Crap.

It was cool seeing people meeting their fellow online @symbol friends and putting a real human body and face with each person’s internet ID. People were trying to remember other user’s names so they could find them later, but I think most were just hoping to remember. Not a lot of notepads floating around to compile a list. Those with business cards had the edge.

So overall, it was a good event and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Thanks to Caroline Collective for hosting the event and helping a great Charity.
