The PeaPod - A happy little electric car.

Check out this new little electric car called the Peapod. If you look closely, this car is smiling at you. Yes, that’s right, smiling directly at you. It’s such a “happy” little car and maybe it’s because it knows how cute it is.
“The Peapod neighborhood electric vehicles use no gasoline and emit no pollutants. So, whether it’s a trip around the neighborhood or a drive to school or work, the Peapod is the ideal way to contribute to a greener planet and a healthy lifestyle.” This is how the PeaPod people describe their new creation, but outside of it being efficient, and “earth healthy”, this car is simply cool. Just a very clean and sleek design that will definitely draw attention on the road.
One of the reasons why we wanted to feature this new electric car is because one of the major features that helps operate and monitor the cars functions is its iPhone dock. Here’s what they have to say about the iPhone connectivity: “Break free of convention while staying in touch with the world. The user-friendly spirit of the Peapod is enhanced by a center console, which includes a stereo speaker system that integrates your iPod® and allows hands-free use of your iPhone™. Also in development are cool green applications for the iPhone, to tell you how much money you are saving, and show you how you’re lowering your carbon footprint by driving a Peapod.”
The iphone does a lot more, but this alone makes you want to have one parked out in the drive way. Find out more about the Peapod by visiting www.greenecomobility.com

It may not be the clean and sleek design that draws attention on the road. It may be all the people lined up behind you wondering why you’re only going 25 miles per hour!
I was interested enough to click through to the website and read the specifications. “Maximum Speed: 25 mph” = not going to work in my town.

ha, yeah, this thing is slow. But they make it clear that the Peapod is only good for use around the neighborhood, golfcourse, and local areas near home. At least you’d be the baddest, most sleek looking slow dude on the road. ha. thanks for the comment.

It makes me wonder what kind of neighborhood these folks live in…
On their website it says that it’s legal to drive it on any road with a posted speed limit up to 35 mph. So it might be legal, but it certainly isn’t very neighborly to the people stuck behind you!
Of course, it IS neighborly to the people who don’t have to hear your car rumbling down the street. I was awoken from my nap yesterday afternoon by a monster truck that growled to a stop in front of our house. The Peapods probably purr….
