The Sixth Sense?

The Sixth Sense?

If you’ve ever seen the movie “The Minority Report” starring Tom Cruise you’ll remember the cool technology being used that involved lots of hands free “no touching of a screens” info searching. Very similar to the touch screen technology that we’re already seeing today, yet “no touching”. Tom and his cool little self had only a glove contraption, an awesome concaved plexy screen and some other computer feeds that allowed him to see video and manipulate photos and information with the movement of his hands. At the time of this movie, this type of interaction seemed super futuristic, but as you will see in the video below, we are not that far away from such abilities.

They’re referring to it as a “sixth sense” and in it’s infant stage a few coupled devices are needed that would give you much undeserved attention if you walked around town with them. But with this coupled technology one can see how our lives could soon become a seemless, constant interaction with information via the internet. Shopping at a store and need some quick product reviews on something you want to buy? Simply point the camera that’s either mounted on your cap or chest and additional product info can be displayed on the product packaging itself (using the product as a screen of sorts). Want to take a quick picture, simply hold your fingers in that Nationwide Insurance position (you’ll know what we’re talking about if you live in the US) and bam, the photo is taken. You can then use any wall to later sift through your photos and manage them.

Want more? Watch the video below and see how crazy things are getting. What’s scary is the mention of a brain implant at the end. This technology is cool, but I don’t know if I’d be down with an implant. ha. Enjoy.
