iPhone used to shoot Paul Wall rap video.

This week, Dunamis Media, our parent media company, was invited to assist Elementum Studios with some green screen work for a Lil Flip & Bobby Moon video shoot being produced here in Houston. There we met some great people and made a connection with a busy little production company in town called AV1 Productions. These guys do a lot of work in town for local rappers and outsiders as well.
One of their clients is Houston based rapper Paul Wall, who they recently did something unique with for a new video. AV1 chose to shoot their newest Wall project with nothing but the new iPhone 3GS, allowing their high end HD and more expensive camera equipment to take a well deserved break. The shoot took place like every other music video production, including lighting, make up, dollies, and tripods, yet it was the little iPhone that was the star of this show, giving even the local news something to talk about.
The production value is of course in question and the producers themselves have a plan in place to help boost the resolution for television. Regardless, this step in video production using mobile technology is definitely something to take notice of. We’ve posted the video as well in the sidebar. Check it out and let us know what you think. This already has us wanting to produce a short bmx / fixie video with the G2 and Cycorder. We’ll let you know how that goes.
